My Mountain Home
MY MOUNTAIN HOME
POEM BY: AIDEN DYLAN KIRCHNER
I see shadows dancing on the pavement
could they be shadows of the ghosts
who are still attacked to this building and land
that haven't moved on?
Off in the distance the sound of a
train horn can be heard
from miles away
I see the squirrels come running up to eat the peanuts
that I have left for them
The birds fly up and land on the branches
patiently waiting for the Squirrels to leave
so they can eat their birdseed and sunflower seeds that I have left out for them
The sun is warm against my skin
and then the wind blows
sending a chill down my spine and goosebumps all over my arms and legs
I stand outside up on my mountain home
I stand outside enjoying the nature outside my mountain home
My beautiful Afton Mountain Home
I love my Afton Mountain Home
